Episode 34: “X For Boys”

On this episode of “No Dams Given,” Tripp and Eric return after a 10-month hiatus due to covid-19. They are joined by King Russell, founder of “The X for Boys” program, which is dedicated to helping young boys turn into men. There is something nefarious going on in our culture, where masculinity is vilified as something toxic. Mr. Russell tells the story of how he began to mentor young boys, not by telling them to be what they are not (i.e., less masculine), but by helping them be what they were meant to be—MEN! X for Boys helps boys aged 11-17 to learn life skills that will help them fulfill their duties as men. Mr. Russell, who has been featured in national news outlets, has become a celebrity in our community, and all at the age of 21! His success with this amazing program are recounted, and his vision for a new school for boys is shared. The youth are our most precious resource, and Mr. Russell has become a model for all of us on how to nurture the male side of that equation.
